My personal diary..

Last night while I was reading the the Star magazine I found out a nice article written by a Bangladeshi New Yorker named "A New Yorker's Ramadan". The writer wrote how Muslim people observe the Ramadan in USA. It's pretty difficult for them to fast there. Here in Bangladesh we get our schools off at the beginning of the Ramadan. But there students have to attend classes and others have to work for 8-10 hours but here service holders have to work for 6/7 hours. They don't have escape from their work during the month of Ramadan.
They even don't have the wake up call for Sehri by siren. But we hear the sound of the siren and also hear the lovely sound of  azaan. Here we are surrounded by mosques and hear the sound of the azaan 24/7. They use an Islamic calendar to find out the time of the prayer. Americans of other religion think that it's totally difficult to fast long a month. But it's possible as we are used to.
Whatever Ramadan in Bangladesh and other Muslim country is quite different from other non-muslim country. I hope I'll not have this kinda Ramadan in future. But every is up to the Almighty. He knows better.
