Always remember that a sharp, simple and well composed picture is the best picture....
Now let's see the 10 Golden Rules of Composing a Photograph:

1. ROOM:
i) Head Room: In a portrait keep some space upon the head.
ii) Shoulder Room: Keep some space beside the shoulder.
iii) Looking Room: Try to keep some space where the subject is looking.
iv) Chin Room: Keep space under the chin.
remember this things for portrait photography...you can use every rule in different photographs..it's not necessary to use all the rules in every photograph.
2. RULES OF THIRD:
i) Never keep important thing/subject in the middle of the photo.
ii)Try to divide the photo in 3 part.
3. BALANCE:
i) For some difference you can take the photo curved.
4. FRAME WITHIN FRAME:
i) Suppose you are in a room and want to take a photo outside the room. Then keep the window/door of the room and also the subject outside. That is called frame within frame.
5. REPETITION:
i) Repeat any subject.
ii) Repeat same activity in the photo.
6. BREAK THE MONOTONY:
i) Suppose there are some same objects in the photo...like some tennis ball. You want to take 5 tennis balls in a row. All the balls are of same colour. Then change one ball among them and place a different coloured ball.
7. GUIDING LINE:
i) What you will see by your eye, try to keep that thing also in the picture.
8. THIRD DIMENSIONS OR DEPTH:
i) Keep the correct height & width of the photo.
9. CONVERGING LINES.
10. FOREGROUND, MIDDLE GROUND and BACKGROUND.
AFTER YOU UNDERSTAND THEM WELL FORGET THEM.......:D
N.B.all these rules were noted by me during a visual photography class. so if there is any false don't blame me!!
i wish i could make you understand the rules with photos..but i'm unable to do that. SORRY!!
