My personal diary..

I’m afraid of water as I can’t swim. But as a traveler I’m not afraid of water though I can’t swim. I’ve traveled to many places on boat, launch and also ship. As much I can remember I first crossed a big canal on a boat at BAGERHAT. But then I was very small. After that I traveled to world’s largest mangrove forest the SUNDARBANS by a small ship. It was a 5 days and 4 night’s tour and that ship was our only transport. 5 days and 4 nights on ship at forest…thrilling!! Recently on the last December I went to Bangladesh’s last land, ST. MARTIN’S ISLAND. The JT was at Tekhnaf the last sub-district of Bangladesh at south. Our ship’s name was KEARI SINDBAD. It was about 2 hours long journey and we reached to the island safely. This March I went to that island again. And this time our ship was even bigger than before. It was EAGLE-1. It also took about 2 hours to reach the island. But the most dangerous experience by water road was during going to the CHERA ISLAND from ST. MARTIN’S ISLAND!! We went there by a steamer. While coming from there our steamer got blocked in the middle of the sea. That time the situation was very funny though we couldn’t laugh! Some ladies and kids started crying. By the grace of the Almighty another steamer was going from there. They took us to the island. Whatever, I’m trying to learn swimming. Perhaps from next year I’ll be able to swim like Phelps!! But those journeys will remain in my mind always!
